Paulus Wagner

Hi! I am an incoming Marie Curie Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Vienna, Department of Government & Department of Sociology. In Fall 2025, I am also Visiting Fellow at the Center for European Studies, Harvard Univerity.

I have priorly been Part-Time Assistant Professor and Max Weber Post-Doctoral Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI), Department of Political and Social Sciences (SPS). I have completed my PhD at Science Po Paris.

My research focuses on social policy, workplaces, and public preferences in both Western and Eastern Europe. Typically, I aim to bridge political science and sociology literatures and to use innovative combinations of qualitative and quantitative methods.

I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses on welfare states, party politics, and qualitative & mixed methods.

Besides academic work, I sometimes engage in public outreach activities and collaborate with artists.
